NEVER FORGET who voted YES for Obamacare.
·
Restore INTEGRITY -- vote Republican in
November.
·
WE CAN REPEAL THE BILL !
BLACK DAY FOR AMERICA
Nationalized Health Care is now the law of the land in America!
219 Democrat Congressmen = YES.
178 Republican Congressmen and 34 Democrats = NO.
The day was Sunday, March 21sts, and the vote was on the Senate
version of Obamacare!
Maybe not on Tuesday or Wednesday, or next week, but shortly in this
life we will begin enjoying the benefits of National Health Service like
they have in England and Canada.
·
Long lines in
doctor’s offices
·
Long waits for
critical tests
·
Rationed care
decisions by government agents
·
Death panels
(YES, they’re in the Senate bill.)
·
Taxpayer paid
abortions
·
Government
insurance mandates
·
Much higher
taxes
·
Ballooning
public debt
·
$500 Billion
robbery from Medicare
·
17,000 more
IRS agents
This bill creates Winners and Losers.
WINNERS = 13 million families who will get healthcare and not pay.
LOSERS = 71 million families who will pay more and get less.
Can we stop this plunge into the European Style Social
Welfare State? YES WE CAN!
We need a massive conservative Republican victory on November 2nd.
Our call to action is:
REPEAL THE BILL!

A Message from Bob... THE MAIN ENEMY … THE
ADMINISTRATIVE STATE.
(With special thanks to
Matthew Spalding and National Review)
Bob Eberle, Chairman Skagit Co Republican
Party January 10th, 2010

Congress lunges forward to pass massive pieces of
legislation with little or no debate, massive in scope and neither read nor
(admitted by most) even understood by them, right up to the final vote.
Congress is increasingly no more than a bookmaker overseeing a vast
array of off-track bets tied to complex new rules and administrative
policies.
The last 100 years has seen the explosion
of the Administrative State.
This has been the most radical change that America has experienced since the
founding of the Republic. A
massive shift of power from institutions of constitutional government to a
complex network of unelected, unaccountable, self-appointed experts who
would rule in the name of ‘the people’.
In 1912 President Wodrow Wilson said “Some
citizens of this country have never got beyond the Declaration of
Independence.” “All that
progressives ask or desire is permission … to interpret the Constitution…
(with) recognition of the fact that a nation is a living thing…”
While the Founders went to great lengths to
limit the power of government, the Progressives (Liberals) have been
striving for a hundred years to strike down the constitutional barriers to
centralized power and to greatly expand government.
In 1932, President Franklin D. Roosevelt
pronounced “The day of enlightened administration has come.”
His New Deal represented an expansion of government unprecedented in
American society.
In 1965 President Linden Johnson asserted
that the purpose of government was no longer to be securing the individual’s
“rights” as in the Declaration of Independence, but to insure “equality as a
right and equality as a result”.
Nationalized Health Care was first proposed
in 1904. It was in the
Progressive party’s platform of 1912.
It came back under FDR and Truman, then Johnson, then Clinton, and
now Obama. The goal has always
been to bring health care for Americans under the thumb of the
Administrative State, whose experts will choose and ration its goods and
services. This is one of many
Liberal (Progressive) agenda items.
Traditional Americans are facing a powerful
political / governmental / media Machine.
That Machine is dedicated to plunging America into European style
Socialism.
Is there any hope that the drive to crush
liberty for individuals can be stopped?
Possibly! 2010 might
prove one of those turning points in history.
The center-right coalition of conservative Republicans, TEA Party
folks, Glenn Beck Meetup, 912’ers, Campaign for Liberty and other concerned
citizens has suddenly become a powerful force, just in the nick of time to
save the America we all know and love.
What happened in the Scott Brown election in Massachusetts
illuminates the path ahead.
Patriots, you must press on! |

A Message from Bob...
Republicans, let's paint in Bold
Colors ...

Republicans, let’s paint
in Bold Colors …
Conservatives
relish a discussion of issues.
To talk about real world solutions to actual problems.
But as candidates we often get scared and instead paint with pale
pastels.
Here’s my
take: It’s ok to speak real words and honest answers.
The voters can handle it. …
You don’t believe me? Try
some recent history:
·
1962: In
Washington State Al Rosellini was the Democrat Governor with his party in
overwhelming control, and he endorsed a State Income Tax.
Republicans campaigned against 'Taxolini' and won enough seats to
form a coalition to control the House of Representatives.
There were no new taxes and a voters enjoyed a reduction in
legislation. Republicans proved they
were in touch with the voters.
·
1964:
WA’s Republican Governor candidate, Dan Evans, reaped a huge benefit from
the no-new-taxes theme and defeated 'Taxolini.'
But after the election Evans went for a State Income Tax, exploding
the budget! Republicans lost
major credibility.
·
1968:
Nixon is elected in large part due to a reaction to Lyndon Johnson’s wild
spending. But once in office he
misread the voters and after allowing wage and price controls, gasoline
rationing, and a Democrat Congress who botched the Viet Nam exit, Watergate was merely
the icing on the cake.
·
1978:
WA State Republicans campaigned boldly on “hold the line on
regulations and taxes," and in a come-from-behind upset they tied for seats
in the House of Representatives.
Republicans successfully held the line on taxes and again became believable
to the voters. They won big in
the 1980 election.
·
1980:
Reagan won the hearts of the electorate with his theme, 'paint
conservative solutions in bold colors, not pale pastels.'
He became famous for his common sense explanations and close
connection with everyday people.
In addition to winning the Cold
War he launched the most successful economic expansion in American history.
The voters loved it.
·
1982:
WA Republicans lost control of the legislature after misreading
voters and passing a big tax hike.
·
1988: GHW
Bush elected president and wins the Gulf War, but breaks his word on “no new
taxes."
·
1994:
Newt Gingrich launched the 'Contract With America,' painting
conservatism in bold colors and inspiring voters to lift Republicans back
into office in large numbers.
·
1998:
Congressional Republicans changed direction, caving in to pork deals
for local communities. Earmarks
blossomed and Republicans lost seats in Congress. Gingrich resigned as
speaker.
·
2000:
GW Bush, even while facing a war launched by Islamic Radicals, cut
taxes and spurred the economy.
Ultimately, he didn't take real action to secure the borders, and didn't
restrain spending.
·
2006:
Republican Congress inflates the budget and feasts on 'earmarks,'
misreading voters again. Not seeing much difference between the parties,
voters allow Democrats to take control of Congress.
Plainly, history shows that when Republicans paint common sense solutions in
Bold Colors, they WIN.
When they wander off into liberal terrain, they LOSE.
So
why does it work out this way?
The answer is simple: The
Democrats' center of gravity is among folks who want the government to play
a central role in their social and economic lives; and Republicans want
individuals and groups to have their own liberty to drive social and
economic matters.
America
remains a center-right country, with a skeptical electorate that doesn't
trust politicians. For the past
year the Public has watched in dismay at the Democrats' exercise of power.
Polls show the Democrat Congress is increasingly viewed as being
radical, and their proposals and philosophy are being rejected.
Here’s my analysis :
In 2010, if Republicans sound a clear
trumpet, and paint with bold colors,
we will WIN!

A Message from Bob...
GRASS ROOTS HAVE COME ALIVE!
October 2009
Bob Eberle, Chairman Skagit Co Republican
Party |
|
 |
|
TEA Party rallies, Town Hall super crowds…! The
turn-out numbers alone have made the point that just plain Americans are fed
up with the new radical direction of government. The grass-roots are saying
plainly that Socialism has failed too many times in the world to be
acceptable for America.
It was the April 15th TEA parties that got
the ball rolling. At the Mt. Vernon event, a number of folks told us that
this was the first demonstration they had ever participated in. We told
them “It’s OK. You’re among friends!” It was thrilling to see just plain
folks standing up for the America their parents and grand-parents had passed
on to them.
Then came the Congressional Town Halls. The
overwhelming crowds were unprecedented, and were more well informed on the
proposed ObamaCare wish list (HB3200) than the Congressman themselves. The
Congressional Staff really paid attention to the numbers and the temper of
the folks. This was the first big block thrown in the wheels of the Obama
socialized medicine steamroller.
The “9.12” Tea Party Express, with the help of Fox
News, and Glenn Beck created a second major wave in favor of traditional
American values. These demonstrations have been absolutely critical in
helping to stall the radical left’s driver for a “single payer” (i.e.
Socialized medicine) health care system. Can that powerful drive by the
left be stopped? We don’t know for sure yet, but we do know that it’s
momentum has been sapped.
In the meantime Obama’s Czars have been exposed as
radicals who want to forement revolution against traditional America. When
Glenn Beck exposed Van Jones as an un-restrained Marxist Radical from
Oakland who had previously declared himself to be a Communist) a revelation
was brought to the American people. We won this one when Van Jones
resigned. It’s not a coincidence that Fox News had a larger audience on the
night of the exposé than ABC, NBC and CBS combined. Finally, Obama’s Czars
are having their past records examined with a critical eye toward their
divergence from mainstream American concepts of restrained government.
The TEA Parties, Town Hall Meetings and exposé of
Obama radicals has alerted middle class America. Many people who had never
taken a role in public arena politics have come out for the first time in
their lives … and are excited that they are actually having an effect on the
national debate. This demonstration of “people power” has had a major
impact on the debate in Washington DC on ObamaCare.
We can yet save the America we inherited. Every one
of us can be in on that “save”. You can energize your friends and neighbors
to help. For right now we must flood Congress with letters, emails and
phone calls. Secondly, if we can win the local elections in 2010 we can
come very close to driving a wooden stake in the vampire’s socialist heart.

A Message from Bob...
GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS
4.6.09
Bob Eberle, Chairman Skagit Co Republican
Party |
|
 |
|
We are in the opening days of a new administration that
seems to display a disdain for capital investing and job creation, so we’ll
have the Bad News first:
The Bad News is that the United
States of America is in a very precarious situation.
The Wall Street Journal has
suggested that the Obama Administration seems to be at war with investors.
Right now, in the USA, government programs are being targeted at rewarding
irresponsible spending habits and penalizing prudent individuals and
actions.
David Obey, Chairman of the House of
Rep Ways & Means Committee publically crowed after the vote on the first
Obama Stimulus bill that: “This is the biggest expansion of government
power since the 1930’s New Deal.”
Plainly, government marauders are on
the prowl, shouting Crisis, Crisis, Crisis -- and their stated intent
is to fundamentally change America, using the “Crisis” as an excuse.
The last time massive spending, new
taxes and regulations were used in an effort to pull the USA out of a bad
recession, FDR and his New Deal just pushed the country down further, into a
full Depression. That Depression lasted eleven years. Not a
future most Americans would seek.
Here in WA state, our own Government
Marauder, Gov Gregoire is shouting Crisis when none really exists. Her
“crisis” is no more than her plan to increase spending by up to 25%.
Her purpose could be to pass a State Income Tax.
In every case, the Marauders plan is
to transfer money from private folks to government. This is a Power
Plan, not a Recovery Plan.
Now the Good News: Our people
are rallying! They are not dejected. Republicans are ready to
fight back in the next election. There is a level of enthusiasm that
is astounding. I saw this personally, at the Conservative Political
Action Conference the last weekend of February in Washington DC.
I can tell you that the Skagit Republican
Party is on the move. Our goal is to sell Freedom!
Our intent is to support the Young
Republicans with philosophical material that they can use to compete in the
market place of ideas among young voters.
Further, we intend to supply our
members and Precinct Committee Officers with ideas that will help them
challenge the thinking of folks in their neighborhoods, and churches, and
garden clubs, backyard BBQ’s, and wherever they see them.
In our Newsletter and on our Web
site [www.skagitgop.com] we are going to put out the call for
“change-for-the-better”, not just “change”.
Polls confirm that what we are
selling is what the vast majority of the voters want. It’s time the
Republican Party became a winner again. ###

A Message from Bob...
SO WHAT DO WE DO
NOW?
1.15.09
Bob Eberle, Chairman Skagit Co Republican
Party |
|
 |
|
The Republican party’s Brand is clearly damaged. We lost a national
election.
But we didn’t get smashed. Here in Skagit
County we successfully helped elect Senator Val Stevens, Rep Barbara Bailey,
Rep Norma Smith, Rep Kirk Pearson, and Rep Dan Kristiansen. And in the
state of Washington, Republicans actually added one State Senator and one
Representative to the ranks of Republican elected state officials.
It used to be that elected Republicans could be
counted on to (1) protect the taxpayers pocketbook, (2) hold new regulations
at bay, (3) defend the Nation, and (4) to be honest and ethical.
We have done a terrific job at defending the Nation.
But we haven’t maintained the rest. That is the damage that has been done
to the Republican Brand.
Is this relevant in 2009? Yes! Recent polls show
that the overwhelming share of Americans of all backgrounds stand with
conservative Republicans on philosophical positions.
Examples: (National Defense) 85% believe
every group in America should support the defense of America; 93% believe
al Qaeda poses a serious threat; 77% support the use of “computer warfare”
to close down terrorist web sites around the world.
(National Economy) 65% favor abolishing
the death tax; Nearly 50% favor abolishing the capital gains tax; 70%
favor a tax incentive for US companies so as to help them keep American jobs
at home;
(Cultural) 89% believe religion and
morality are important to them and their families; 87% approve of the
reference to “the Creator” in the Declaration of Independence; 81% oppose
removing crosses from public sites; 90% approve of a Christmas tree or
menorah on public property; 84% agree reference to God in the Pledge of
Allegiance is appropriate.
The American people know the truth of Ronald Regan’s
aphorism about government: Except in national defense and courts,
Government is not the Answer, Government is the Problem
The 2010 elections are critical. If Republicans can
win sweeping victories in local elections we will shock the Obama
administration. The palace guard surrounding Obama lusts after “power”. A
Republican sweep in local elections in 2010 will absolutely drive national
policy to the right.
That’s
our mission over the next two years: Win local elections in 2010
Thanks,
Bob Eberle... |
